Sorane is a music practice app. This page explains what information the app handles and how it is used.
What Sorane stores on your device
Sorane stores your practice data locally on your device so the app can work. This may include your assignments, BPM settings, practice history, saved links, and other practice context you create inside the app.
Images and OCR text
If you import an assignment from an image, Sorane uses on-device text recognition to help extract text from that image. Sorane does not upload your screenshots or extracted assignment text to Sorane’s own servers.
Analytics
Sorane uses Amplitude for lightweight product analytics so the app can be improved over time. These analytics events may include actions such as:
- app opened
- image import tapped
- OCR succeeded or failed
- assignment saved
- practice marked
- metronome started
- song opened
- progress opened
- practice log copied
Sorane is designed not to send raw assignment text, copied practice logs, or assignment titles as analytics event payloads.
Third-party services
Sorane currently uses third-party services and SDKs including:
- Amplitude, for product analytics
Those services may process technical information needed to operate their tools, such as device or app-level analytics metadata.
Advertising
Sorane does not use third-party ads in the app.
Accounts
Sorane does not currently require account creation.
Your choices
If you no longer want local practice data on your device, you can delete the app. If you contact Sorane support in the future, additional information you choose to send by email will be handled through that support channel.
